Robert J. Shusterman
Robert J. Shusterman, a resident of Chestnut Hill, Philadelphia, is an attorney and architect licensed in Pennsylvania. He has a long history of involvement in environmental and preservation matters including negotiating, drafting, and defending preservation and conservation easements in Pennsylvania. He drafted Philadelphia’s Wissahickon Watershed Zoning Ordinance and later served as a Special Assistant Attorney General on DER’s Environmental Strike Force often involving Dams & Encroachments. His practice concentrates on construction, historic preservation, and environmental matters. He is the founder and President of Responsible Preservation, Inc. formerly known as The Wissahickon Watershed Impact Zoning Initiative, Inc.
George E. Thomas
George E. Thomas, Ph.D. a resident of Chestnut Hill, Philadelphia, is a cultural and architectural historian, with substantial experience in preservation and urban planning issues. Author of ten books on the architecture and culture of the region, he has been the principal historian of the City of Philadelphia for fifty years. He consults on historic preservation and urban planning in many jurisdictions. He was one of developers of the impact zoning methodology for The Wissahickon Watershed Impact Zoning Initiative now known as Responsible Preservation, Inc. Between 2011 and 2022 he has been the co-director of the Critical Conservation Program in the Graduate School of Design at Harvard University.
Eileen Newcomb
Eileen Newcomb a resident of Chestnut Hill, Philadelphia, has a long history of civic and charitable activities. She is a graduate of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
For many years she worked in the maritime industry and has worked for numerous non-profits and charities such as the Curtis Institute of Music in both paid and volunteer capacities.
William Blades
William Blades has been active in historic and environmental preservation since the 1980’s. While presently living in Rock Hall, Maryland, he has spent many years as a Chestnut Hill, Philadelphia resident and was active in community matters. Mr. Blades led the restoration of the Mill House at the Philadelphia Waterworks through his organization, PHPC Restoration Inc. He is sailor and holds a Captains license.
